Constructed of bronzed magnetic sheet metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942), affixed with four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backer with a replacement dark grey wool liner and black paper backer, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a documented variant
